I had to delete safari and safari components as there few webpages did not open with safari after updating software. And now everytime I download safari it gives me various different versions but doesnt open or instal safari on my mac.

As a next step, I'd reinstall all of OS X. A reinstallation of OS X (so long as you don't wipe the disk) should not perturb your existing environment, but I'd make an external backup or two before following this path, just to maintain your data should something go wrong. I had some issues with both using a wiki so I tried to open Safari (and also download) but I receive this message when I try to open it (which by the way has a strange gray icon and 'no' symbol): You have Mac OS X 10.7.5. The application requires Mac OS X 10.8 or later. Basically it says the I cannot use this version of the application with mac os x. It is possible i downloaded something malicious, but I cannot think of anything. I tried downloading Safari but it told me I could not install that particular version when I tried to open in dowloads. Can you help me?
