Did your developers not think to avail themselves of this opportunity? That would have given them a ton of time (over 6 months) to test this in advance of 10.11’s release. How much time does it take to develop a driver, seriously? I know it’s boring as hell, but that’s what’s needed and what should have taken place. There could have been a driver in testing in June, and certainly by November. This is utterly inexcusable and unexplainable.
